Hello everyone. Thank you for reading this article. I’m Shogo, the manager of this website and the interpreter/instructor at Yushikan Kyoto’s Samurai Training Activity. The Samurai Training with the Modern-day Musashi is run by three instructors of the Ryuha style, Yushin Ryu.
Yushin Sensei | Head of the Dojo
Yushin Sensei is the head of the Yushinkan Kyoto Dojo. He is the grandson of the founder of our Iai Ryuha style, Yushin Ryu. Our style was named after his name. Yushin Sensei has trained in katana martial arts since 2002 (12 years old). Due to his high skills in two-katana style techniques, he is called the “Modern-day Musashi.” He will be your instructor in our Yushinkan Samurai Training Activity.
Osayo | Assistant
Osayo is a Yushin Ryu 4th Dan trainee who has trained in katana martial arts since 2019. She is Yushin Sensei’s secretary and joins in almost every training session that Yushin Sensei holds. The Sōke (headmaster) of Yushin Ryu has said at an official annual event that she is “the best woman trainee he has ever had in his Ryuha style.” She will be your assistant in our Yushinkan Samurai Training Activity.
Shogo | Interpreter
Shogo is a Yushin Ryu 3rd Dan trainee who has trained in katana martial arts since 2015. Shogo runs the YouTube channel “Let’s ask Shogo,” which has over 1.7M subscribers. He won the grand championship at the Shizan mat-cutting tournament in 2023 and was the first ever in the Ryuha style’s history to jump from the 1st Dan rank to the 3rd. He will be your English interpreter in our Yushinkan Samurai Training Activity.
